Game of Quilles exclusively for women
This is a game exclusively for women. In the past, the game of Quilles was mixed with Celtic rituals and age-old traditions. They had more “hands”, lost today, and was played in almost all the squares, even in the hallways to the houses if it was raining.
Nine quilles (skittles) turned from wood in a conical shape ending in a ball, the middle one called the nou (nine) has three lines around it to differentiate it from the others. Two teams played against each other, each with three or five players. They had to knock the skittles over, which varied depending on the “hand” that was used and the different throwing distances marked with a line they had to stand behind while standing still. The team that managed to score six “hands” first won.
