Posets peak or tuca de Llardana, with its 3,369 meters high, is the summit that gives name to the second highest massif of the Pyrenees. Its unmistakable trapezoidal silhouette represents the Pyrenean mountain prototype because it stands out over the others in the mountain chain and offers a fabulous panoramic view. Out of interest, Posets would mean “well” in Patués (the local dialect), while Llardana means “burned mountain”, a name that seems to be related to the colouring displayed in the oriental slope during the first sunrise lights.
